Director Of Engineering
CurrentResponsible for managing all aspects of product development and testing. Coordinate product development strategy with the sales and marketing teams and oversees the laboratory operations and staff and handles all associated administrative duties. Responsibilities include:- Direct and manage the lifecycle of all products, including concept, planning, design, performance testing (pre and post production) and quality control over the life of the product.- Ensure compliance with all safety and regulatory agencies.- Research innovative technologies that can enhance the company product line.- Work closely with overseas engineering and manufacturing teams to produce products in a timely manner.- Coordinate with Sales and marketing to target the right products to customer demand.- Direct laboratory operations and staff. Direct quality control and RMA testing processes. Provide designs for complex laboratory setups. Ensure an overall safe environment for employees and equipment. Conduct regular technical training sessions, safety meetings and staff meetings.- Provide technical and application engineering support to sales, marketing and clients on all products. - Hire engineering staff and laboratory technicians. Direct their training and personal development.- Accountability. Participate in weekly team meetings and monthly safety meetings.- Personal development. Participate in at least 4 annual training sessions, in person or on-line, related to field of work.- Prepare and manage departmental budgets.
