After 30 years consulting and training in areas such as organizational development, management-supervision-leadership, human resources and sales I packed up my laser pointers and spreadsheets and retired to Asheville, NC. So much for the idea of taking it easy!!! Now I'm teaching and taking classes at OLLI UNC Asheville and I founded groups for men in transition. After being told it was a good idea, but it would never work, these men's groups, Men's Wisdom Works. I've become a storytelling and I have my radio show, Storyville heard on WPVMFM.org and Chuck Fink Storyteller on my Youtube page. I teach classes on storytelling at OLLI UNCA.But there's more to m,y transition. I hike, bicycle, travel, play at our lake cottage, act, dabble in stand-up comedy, engage in storytelling, and volunteer. In many ways, this is the most meaningful stage of life, the third stage.

In 2009 I hung up my Powerpoints after more than 30 years of running a consulting and organizational development practice. Shortly afterwards transitional issues arose for me. I thought this situation may be common to many retiring or retired men.So later that year I founded Men's Wisdom Works. MWW consists of groups of 8-12 men. Men encourage one another to disclose and to build strong bonds with other men engaging in similar transitional experiences such as retirement and other life changes.During my research and development phase several people told me this was a good idea but I'd never attract any men. Four years later MWW boasts 11 groups with 131 men participating.
