Respiratory care to patients at a Trauma Hospital in Osceola County, FL.

• Managed and delivered respiratory care services to pediatric, adult, neonatal, and geriatric patients, which included airway management, respiratory monitoring, special respiratory care procedures, respiratory emergencies, mechanical ventilation, and pulmonary function testing.

• Set up noninvasive ventilators, CPAP machines, nebulizers, and oxygen for respiratory compromised patients and scheduled home visits of patients to assess compliance with therapy. • Performed aerosol therapies and airway clearance techniques in compliance with department protocol and the AARC Clinical Practice Guidelines. • Oversaw airway management based on pulmonary status, clinical condition, and policy.

• Performed respiratory duties in NICU, ICU, and E.R., conducted patient assessments, coordinated with healthcare teams to deliver treatments, and developed plan of care for patient groups. • Participated in respiratory emergency activities in accordance to department protocol, and maintained, monitored, and assessed artificial airways.  • Initiated and assessed pediatric mechanical ventilation, non-invasive ventilation, and CPAP and weaning protocols based on lab results, pulmonary functions, and AARC Clinical Practice Guidelines.

• Conducted Respiratory Therapist assignments, ventilator management, trauma patient care in NICU, PICU, ICU, and emergency areas across various hospitals, including Oakland Children’s Hospital, Alameda County Medical Center, San Jose Regional Medical Center, and Kaiser. • Provided ventilator and noninvasive ventilator management, medication, and oxygen delivery in NICU, ICU, E.R., and floors across hospitals in the Bay Area.

• Utilized therapist driven protocols in ICU and emergency area and delivered respiratory care services to patients, including airway management, respiratory monitoring, special respiratory care procedures

• Provided respiratory care services in the level II NICU and ICU areas, coordinated with residents and physicians, and provided airway management, respiratory monitoring.

• Delivered in-services every month to new nursing students, led a preceptor initiative on my first day, and received the “Hero of the Heart” award in 1999, for outstanding care and compassion.

• Served in in the PICU, adult ICU's and ER, set up a medication protocol for the department, and delivered respiratory care services to pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients.
