Chuckie Joseph, a drummer since before birth, began his musical/drumming career on stage at the tender age of two with Arthur Hall Afro-American Dance Ensemble. Since then, he has performed all over the world with many people and groups. He is a master drummer of djembe, djun djun, congas and has achieved the status of Aña in Batá. Drumming is at the very core of Chuckie Joseph’s being. To experience Chuckie Joseph’s drumming is to truly be transfixed and transformed. Through the drum, he seeks to express the complexities of himself and to honor his teachers by bringing the purity of the culture to others.
