Director, Engineering
I developed a multi-site diversified test automation team in the modem system test division. I established a team in India to reduce the response time to reported issues. To further improve test efficiency the team is participating in the design, development, and implementation of a unified test framework. The unified system combines several existing test frameworks into a single entity to reduce redundancy, improve consistency, and increase automation. I designed and developed a software application management system. The system reduces the time devoted to the management of software deployed to test stations by automating their management and deployment.I was the lead of the software team which implemented the Radio Interface Layer (RIL) for the Android and Symbian operating systems. The RIL is an abstraction layer between the host operating system's telephony services and the radio hardware. In addition to leadership and technical responsibilities, I ensured that the team complied with Qualcomm regulations for open source development.As the lead of the 7500A modem software release team I was the point of contact for the external customer. I established the delivery schedule and contents by gathering requirements from the customer. I ensured successful milestone completion by coordinating with the development and test teams.The Globalstar 2nd Generation User Terminal project provided me the opportunity to lead the software team which created a smaller and cost reduced product. The project required porting of the existing software to an entirely new platform which included moving from x86 to ARM. An additional requirement was an improved display with support for additional languages and functionality.My non-technical responsibilities include performance evaluations, career development, and driving the recruiting and intern programs for the Boulder office. I also represent Qualcomm on the University of Colorado at Boulder Industrial Advisory Board.
Senior Staff Software Engineer/Manager
As a sales engineer I supported the European sales/marketing team specializing in Qualcomm’s smartphone application framework. I defined new product features by gathering requirements from customers, created demonstrations, and provided technical support.
