Co-founded a successful online mortgage broking business, settling $200m worth of lending in less than 2-years. Sold the business in July 2017.

I worked for Language Perfect (now Education Perfect) periodically between 2009-2013 as the company experienced significant growth from a startup to an industry-changing market leader. Working closely with the company founder and head of sales I worked to support the growth of the company. When I started, we were 6 people working out of a room at the University of Otago. Now, the company employs over 40 staff and manages business for clients across the globe. Every year, Language Perfect has over 250,000 students using their educational software. My main responsibilities were in customer service and support. We worked incredibly hard to support teachers in their work and ensure they were able to do best by their students. I was responsible for signing large clients in the early days that now bring hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of revenue into the company.

In charge of providing the Sales & Trading desk with overnight research and select news publications, while aiding with research projects as requested by the Research & Sales team.Tasked with compiling market data and news articles for use in the Macquarie Morning News Report, a daily news report sent to clients throughout the Australasian Region.

Overseeing the continued growth and development of the club, instigating procedures to ensure strong succession in leadership. I also worked with external donors to set up a scholarship fund for deserving members, providing $6,000 p.a. to deserving students who have shown exceptional service to the Club.

Key achievements include increasing the number of members by 110% and raising $125,000 through external funding. This increased the size of the club’s managed fund from $15,000 to over $140,000.Restructured the UAIC, forming the Executive and Investment Committees to improve the transparency of investment decisions. Managed key events including valuation tutorials, guest speakers, and industry insight events.Integral investment decision maker, also tasked with ensuring fund strategy was communicated to members through a monthly ‘Bulletin’ financial report.

I worked in a number of departments, including Marketing, Warehousing, and even had the chance to try my hand at winemaking. One of my key projects was working with the head of Operations to analyse the business and implement a 'lean production' plan to improve overall business efficiency.

I made sandwiches for a number of years while I was at school. One casual Sunday morning, I was held up at gunpoint. The police never caught the thief!
