I am a unique individual. In my more than 20 years in the food service industry, I have worked in both Sales Management and Procurement Management roles. In both fields, I have developed and executed business strategies that increase revenue growth. I am known for my expertise in team leadership, negotiating, process design, training, and development of strategic business partnerships with vendors and customers. These skills, derived from both the Sales and Purchasing arenas, can be easily applied to any kind of business. Because of my experience in both sales and purchasing, I possess a unique understanding of the practices and thought processes of both sides of the equation. This gives me an ability to be successful in either role. I have an organized mentoring management philosophy. My emphasis is on employee empowerment and development of a sense of personal ownership of the business. In a training role, I am able to break down a complex process or system into component parts that are easy to understand. This “gentle hands on” and “one bite at a time” approach has helped me to develop team members into more effective and successful employees for the company. I have a BA in from California State University, Long Beach.In my personal life, I am the father of a 22 year old son who has just begun a career in electronic engineering. He and I share a hobby of restoring old sports cars. I am also an avid outdoorsman. I enjoy hiking, camping, skin and SCUBA diving and photography. I have also been involved in numerous youth activities with the YMCA and Boy Scouts of America, and am beginning to become involved in outreach with the Navajo Nation.
