I started at Austrade as a business development manager, looking for business opportunities in the Northeast (Liaoning Province, Jilin Province and Heilongjiang Province) region of China, facilitate Australian exports and attract investment to Australia. Austrade had just opened an office in the region, my job was developing the market and expanding the network, not only just for the business community, but also for the Australian government. I need to make sure Australia establish a great relationship with the local government. During my time at the northeast office, we successfully delivered numerous trade events and ministerial level visits. Because of the reliable and strong network, Australia opened their China’s 5th Consulate in Shenyang, Liaoning in 2019, aiming to strengthen both of the business and political ties in the region. Then I moved to Beijing, started at the Embassy, in charge of food, beverage, consumer, agribusiness, creative and tourism, identifying useful contacts for Australian exports and facilitating their marketing plans in China. My personal capability grows over the years and I was promoted to a senior role based on my working performance. I curated many events and projects that never happened before, such as Australian Craft Beer China Tour, Wine Roadshow, Australian Film and Screen Australia Reception, Australian Fashion Festival, China – Australia Year of Tourism Promotion, etc. Also worth to mention was the two times trade mission led by Australian Prime Minister, besides several coincided business and investment activities, I curated gala lunch with 1,800 participants of business elites and government officials from both countries. I recently acquired a Graduate Certificate in Marketing from RMIT, Australia. After I returned to my senior position, I now took up a new role as the lead for Australian Agribusiness, Food, Beverage and Consumer industry in China market, focus on digital, communication and branding.
