I have benefited from working in several corporate cultures from serving in the U.S. Air Force, to working in a formal corporate culture, running a division for an entrepreneurial company, helping lead a multinational company through a turnaround scenario, and most recently leading the operations of a capital equipment manufacturer. Whether the product is basic steel processing or capital equipment I continue to find there is no substitute for being a hands-on leader. The up front investment of rolling up my sleeves to help my team analyze problems and execute improvement actions always pays dividends. The result is an increasingly self sufficient team capable of perpetuating the business through periods of change.Practicing General Management requires breadth, depth, and a systemic view of the business. I am equally comfortable working on a technical manufacturing issue, performing a financial analysis of a product line or an operating location, negotiating with a vendor, or improving customer relationships. Understanding the cause and effect relationships of changes in any component of the system is essential to achieving true improvement versus change for change sake. My experiences reinforce my belief in building and maintaining low cost operations that provide stability for all stakeholders.Specialties: • General Management• Strategic Account Management• Project Management• Major Capital Expansions• Behavioral Based Implementations (Safety, Corporate Core Values)• Lean Supply Chain Implementation• Cycle Time Reduction• QS9000 and TS16949 Quality System Implementation• Mergers and Acquisitions• Continuous Improvement• Team Building and Employee Development• Experience working in a union environment and contract negotiation• ERP (SAP) Implementation Project Leadership
