• Simulate and compare several convention broadcast protocols (flooding, p-persistence, weighted p-persistence, slot1/p-persistence and BPAP) in various traffic scenarios under different sending and receiving modes and analyze their system performance including reliability, latency and communication range.• Propose a backoff value selection mechanism for sources under directional mode antennas to ensure that the emergency alert message can be successfully triggered.• Propose an integrated broadcasting mechanism including backoff mechanism and through “side-acknowledge” to improve the system performance.• Compared different transmission and reception modes, and found that using the Slotted p-Persistence protocol with our improvement methods under the omnidirectional mode can achieve the best performance.

• Collaborated with two teammates to utilize stream cipher encryption and decryption technology for image transmission. Stream cipher is a method of encrypting a continuous stream of bits, providing efficient and fast encryption and decryption processes.• Compared with the DES algorithm, our encryption method achieves approximately ten times higher encryption and decryption speed.• Measure the frame rates achieved for each resolution, approximately 5 frames per second for 720p and 13 frames per second for 480p.
