I joined Howard instrumentation mid 2023 as a field technician. Since joining I have been engulfed in the world of calibration. I have had a very intense learning period as no job has been the same and the range of products and equipment used is vast. I have used calibration equipment to calibrate for pressure, electrical including simulation, weighing, gasses, temperatures, humidities, flow rates, conductivity, and PH levels on a broad range of machinery in various industries. I have worked all over Ireland in a huge array of industries from Lifesciences and Pharma to food production and industrial. As the customer facing representative of the company when on site, I liaise with clients from all levels including technicians, quality teams and management, increasing my skills for interacting with clients.I graduated with a 2.1 BEng Mechanical Engineering Lvl.8 degree from TUDublin. I had great success in college due to my passion and work ethic. I was on the competitive college karting racing team for 4 years, while also being the treasurer and then the Vice-Chairman for the club. In my final year I joined the Formula student team for my thesis, where I designed and manufactured the rear suspension system. This was the perfect project as it was a way for me to finally work on designing and building part of a race car, which has long been a desire of mine. The car has many limitations which were cause for innovative solutions around the suspension set up at the rear as it is a fully electric car. The rear suspension has very limited space due to the motors and accumulators being placed at the rear of the vehicle which allowed me to come up with various design iterations and solutions to best maximise performance despite the limitations of the car. I received a 69% grade for this thesis, a result I am very proud of. I then carried this passion with me as I am currently building a new drift car.
