Cian is the CEO of Druids Holdings, a leading health & wellness group of companies that includes Druids Garden and Druids Extracts. Druids Garden was awarded a research permit to develop cannabis medicines for the local market in 2019 and Druids Holdings a medical cannabis license from SAHPRA in 2021.Druids Garden was awarded a research permit to develop psilocybin medicines for depression, PTSD and end-of-life anxiety in 2022 and formed a partnership with the University of the Free State in 2023.Cian has had a lifelong passion for Indigenous Knowledge Systems (IKS) and African Traditional Medicine in particular. He has trained with numerous IKS leaders since 1991 and is a registered Traditional Doctor. He received a Diploma in Medicinal Cannabis from COE in Scotland in 2019.Cian has 33 years of experience as a project manager, primarily in the live event, television and agricultural industries. He studied Arts Management at Wits School of Public and Development Management in 1994.Cian is a founder member of the African Cultural Heritage Trust (ACHT), the annual Zindala Zombili African Music & Dance Festival and the South African Music Industry Council. He is a current board member of the ACHT and Druids Holdings.Cian is a founder member of the Intamoyenkunzi Primary Agricultural Co-op that is based near Isandlwana in KZN. The Co-op was established in 2010 in partnership with the KZN Dept. of Agriculture as a pilot food security programme to be replicated in rural areas of South Arica.Cian's knowledge of the emerging cannabis industry, through his close working with rural communities in food security and traditional medicine, has paved the way for his pivotal role in creating practical models for the mass roll out of cannabis as an industry, both in hemp and medicinal cannabis.He continues to work with local role players and through Druids Garden is working with the CSIR, provincial government structures and Departments like DALRRD.Cian is a specialist in the complicated and highly regulated new environment and with his Druids team is well positioned to be pivotal in understanding the challenges faced in the industry.
