Warwick House is an intensive, family-focused residential treatment program (IRTF) serving children ages 5 – 14 years old who struggle with serious emotional and behavioral problems often associated with severe trauma, substance abuse exposure, and serious family stressors. Warwick offers short-term intensive residential (STIR) treatment programming to address the underlying causes of behaviors necessitating out-of-home treatment with an emphasis on reunification and long-term stability and recovery for both the child and family.Primary responsibilities included:- Worked one on one with children in a group residential home- Supervised groups of children of 5 and more of their daily life activities- Collaborated with a team of primary therapists, social workers, and case managers- Implemented ESI restraints and de-escalation techniques- Tracked and monitored weekly and monthly progress updates/reports

During my undergraduate experience at the University of Pittsburgh, I worked at the Pittsburgh ADHD Risk Infancy Study (PARIS) Lab. Primary Investigator: Heather Joseph, DO.http://yfrp.pitt.edu/PARISThe Pittsburgh ADHD Risk in Infancy Study (PARIS) enrolled 78 infants between the ages of 6-11 months and their biological parents, with and without ADHD, to examine the development of attention in infants and toddlers at high and low risk for ADHD. Outcomes from this study could provide information regarding the ability to detect risk for inattention in the first year of life. This is a critical first step towards the ultimate goal of early identification and intervention for children at risk for ADHD.Primary responsibilities include:- Coded video recordings of toddlers during an attention focusing task using ELAN, an annotation tool for audio and video recordings- Administered reaction time assessments to adult participants- Assisted and conducted in-home visits with infants and toddlers

Currently, their focus is how children grow and learn within the context of their natural environment – their own homes. Therefore, they observe children in their own home while playing with their parents and their own toys.Primary responsibilities included:- Coded video recordings of parent-child interactions using Datavyu, a video coding and data visualization tool, and adult-child interactions in a lab setting to identify gender play preferences.- Managed and scheduled in-lab and online visits with participants- Recruited new participants for different lab studies- Conducted online visits with parents and children focusing on play interactions- Trained research assistants on the Datavyu software- Assisted in creating coding material for the Datavyu software
