I am the general aviation safety social media lead and an associate editor for the FAA Safety Briefing magazine, which is part of the national FAA Safety Team (FAASTeam) under the FAA Flight Standards Service. The FAASTeam's mission is to improve the Nation’s aviation accident rate by conveying safety principles and practices through training, outreach, and education. I am responsible for the online version of the magazine and the social media and email marketing to drive pilots and mechanics to the content. I work on website design and video production for several safety series. I am also on the Safe Air Charter working group.

I was inactive while at Air Force basic training and the security forces academy. In 2000, I transferred to Andrews Composite Squadron (DC033) and became a senior member in CAP. I served in various squadron roles including leadership officer, cadet activities officer, emergency services officer, public affairs officer, and deputy commander for seniors.

I was a cadet in CAP's Waukesha Composite Squadron (WI048) and earned the Earhart Award.

I founded the company as a veteran-owned small business with other local DC-area residents that had a passion for travel and tourism. Through the HostelHiker service, we offered tours, trips, and transfers between local hostels and other popular landmarks in the mid-atlantic region. We helped build connections between hostels and hostelers and raise awareness of inexpensive accommodations within the United States. And we managed several short-term residential properties.

I was elected to the board of directors by local members of the nonprofit, which covered hostels in D.C., Baltimore, Harpers Ferry, and Richmond. The council was a chapter of HI-USA and merged into the national nonprofit as part of HI-USA's unification of all 26 local councils. I also served as the treasurer for one and a half years.

This was in support of the Department of Homeland Security's Office of Intelligence and Analysis.

This was as a graphic designer for classified projects.

This was in support of the Defense Intelligence Agency and Missile Defense Agency. I worked in internal communications producing digital and print products.

I served one weekend a month with the 113th Fighter Wing public affairs office.
