Upon graduating from the University of Western Australia, I entered the Woods Bagot graduation prize, for which I was asked to submit my honours portfolio. I subsequently won this prize, which included an offer of employment. My initial role within the company was as an architectural assistant, producing models and images for presentation, conceptual design for competitions and basic documentation and schedules.During my first weeks in the Perth studio, the team won a competition to design a new business school for the University of Western Australia. Joining this project at the schematic design stage I was given significant scope to develop ideas for the design of the facades, and encouraged to provide input into design discussions. As I followed this project through to construction documentation, I developed my skills in detail design, documentation, scheduling and also in corresponding with and managing consultants and contractors.My next significant project was in the design and construction of the Perth Modern High School, where I was given the role of project leader, working in direct support of the project Architect. My roles included writing the return brief in consultation with the client and the Department of Education, liaising with the client and user groups on design and construction issues, and presenting the project to State Government for planning and funding approval. Since relocating to the Woods Bagot Sydney office in 2007, I have been tasked with leading the design on a number of projects and competitions. My responsibilities extended to client and authority liaison, quality assurance, project management and design reviews. I also developed my 3D visualisation and modelling skills and provided support for other Woods Bagot offices in major design competitions.; University of Western Australia: Design Studio Co-ordinator

Whilst studying, I completed 8 weeks of work experience with Syrinx Environmental, a landscape design and environmental engineering practice. During my time with this company, I developed skills in presentation and design models, presentation drawings, as well as attending design meetings for the Point Fraser Waterfront Project.
