The UNAAWA Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Forums occur four times a year and aim to bring the United Nations SDGs out of the advocacy space and into commercial business, education and government. Each forum invites key figures from industry to provide insight and facilitate discussion with the intention of elevating awareness, transparency, and accountability..Under Dr. Sandy Chong, I am involved in our small SDG Forum committee to help organise and assist the four yearly forums.

As a member of the Unit leadership team, my role involves providing opportunities for Youth Members (7-11 year olds) to develop and use leadership skills. I contribute to the planning of the Unit program in collaboration with both Youth Members and Adult Members. Additionally, I facilitate Youth Members in developing and implementing an effective program that aligns with their needs and interests. I take responsibility for specific elements of the Unit program and meetings as directed by the leadership team, while supporting other team members, sharing skills and knowledge, and ensuring compliance with risk management policies to contribute to the health and safety of all Unit members.

Under Dr. Sandy Chong, I undertake research surrounding the ASEAN Business Council’s projects and clients. My research involves market research, competitor research, policy, grants, government initiatives, revenue opportunities and foreseeable future opportunities in the market. This research is presented to clients and Dr. Sandy Chong to inform their ongoing discussions.In addition to this, I have had the opportunity to attend client meetings and play an ongoing role in projects. Supported by the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals, these projects aim to bring social and economic development to Australia and ASEAN nations. I have built relationships and networks in the Australia-ASEAN business, trade and development space through this.

- Assist in the design of signage, marketing materials, email campaigns/ newsletters, online promotion, etc.- Assist in the distribution of marketing and communications material- Assist with online event pages set-up and management- Prepare webinar meetings on Zoom or other platforms when required- Attend events as required to assist Events teams with venue set-up, registration table, ushering, pack-up and other ad-hoc tasks- Upload event photos, webinar recordings, event recaps, and other posts to websites, and ensure webpages are kept up to date- Auditing/reviewing CRM and mailing list for relevancy and consistency across platforms- Monitor social media, news, and various subscribed newsletters for topical items to utilize on members newsletters- Drafting briefing documents and/or speech notes for the President WA

- A volunteer position where I am responsible for running and supervising the Discovery Centre on the ground floor of Perth Children Hospital.- Assist children with the educational games.- Explain the purpose of the games and how it demonstrates the need to maintain proper hygiene and health. - Highlight the role of the Telethon Kids Institute researchers in preventing and curing diseases.- Engage parents in becoming involved with the Telethon Kids Institute.- Facilitate activities for children in the wards or waiting for appointments to allow them space to play and relax.

The 3 week program involved working as a team of 5 consultants with an industry mentor to produce a strategic plan for the client based on industry research. - Employability Skills Development: innovation, collaboration, leadership, service, cultural consciousness, problem solving.- Reflection and Project Adjustment Based on Client and Mentor Feedback.- Production of Deliverables: project plan, final report for strategic development and presentation of findings to client.- Organisation of Meetings and Agendas In-line with Expected Professionalism.
