Barnardo’s SECOS (Sexual Exploitation Children’s Outreach Service) Project works to enable young people to exit and recover from sexual exploitation through the following services;a day service for young people, missing from home, FCASE (Families and Communities Against Sexual Exploitation), creative arts and activities, an outreach service and Vulnerable adults case work, drop-in, drugs and alcohol service.The role of the project worker is to work across these areas and support young people and their families.

As part of a role-emerging placement, myself and a colleague identified, adapted and implemented an OT tool in order for it to be used in the probation period to improve participant engagement in a number of ways and add to the person-centred approach of the organisation.

As part of a specialised team in a medium-secure forensic setting, I implemented various assessments, including the MOHOST, OP reports, Interest Checklists and goal setting.I facilitated group activities with assistance, including model making, baking, wii sessions and sensory garden meetings.One to one sessions incorporated interventions based on hygiene, daily routine, social and communication skills, road safety, sensory interventions, individualised equipment.

To promote the independence of individual who have experienced a spinal injury.Main aspects focused on were washing, dressing and feeding, to enable an individual to be as independent as possible on the ward. In addition to this, confidence building, hand therapy, ADL's, driving and social activities were also considered.Equipment provision and home visits were a large part of this role.

As part of the Acute psychiatry inpatient OT team, I facilitated a range of group activities and carried out observations throughout.I also carried out a range of one to one assessments, including goal setting, interest checklists and activities.

To provide equipment to vulnerable people- both mental and physical conditions, and assess housing conditions to identify if adaptations need to be made or if rehousing should be considered.
