The NFL Life Line provides mental health support, crisis intervention and suicide prevention services for the National Football League. As project director, I oversee all operations, training and outreach efforts related to the program. The NFL Life Line is a free and confidential crisis intervention and emotional support hotline service available to the entire NFL community and staffed 24/7 by mental health professionals. In my role I also work closely with the NFL's Office of Player Engagement to identify and outreach to key NFL populations (current and former players, team and league staff, and family members, etc.) to provide mental health, total wellness, crisis intervention and suicide prevention training and support. The goal of the NFL Life Line is to provide support to the entire NFL community and help break down barriers to accessing mental health care in this population.

• Identified and targeted underserved populations and geographic locations for coverage within the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline. Provided technical assistance for the existing 114 certified crisis centers. These centers comprise a federally funded, centralized network of agencies providing suicide prevention services along with emergency response. Part of SAMSHA’s Suicide Prevention Initiative.• Assisted in the recruitment of new crisis centers into the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline. Oversaw application process for crisis centers and managed the legal network agreement process.• Other responsibilities included: traveling to mental health conferences to present information on the lifeline and recruit qualified agencies into the network; developing and disseminating public education information to raise awareness of suicide prevention and promote the hotline number nationally.

• OMH Coordinator of the New York State and Federal Emergency Management Agency’s mental health response to the 9/11 World Trade Center Disaster.• Duties included general oversight and development of the crisis-counseling program, pre-approval of all media, educational and training materials used by 130 Project Liberty mental health agencies throughout New York State.• Provided technical assistance and support to county program directors and mental health commissioners for mental health disaster relief programs in their counties.• Processed all calls and emails into statewide help center and website – ranging from crisis counseling to programmatic outreach support to case management.
