I provided research assistance to EmpRiSe, a European Commission–Justice Programme project on the right to silence in pre-trial suspects' interrogations in Ireland and other European Union Member States.

I was contracted to develop a methodology for classifying secondary legislation implementing European Union law in Ireland.

My primary responsibility in this position was analysing legislation for compliance with international and domestic human rights and equality laws, and preparing reports with outlining issues, with proposals for reform. I was also responsible for drafting submissions to international human rights and equality bodies, outlining Ireland's compliance with the relevant standards.

I was the principal researcher on the Commission's project on the mental element of the rape. I also worked on the Commission's Access to Legislation project, tracking amendments to legislation and preparing Revised Acts.
