As a waitress, my job includes serving food and drink to customers, handling money transactions between myself and the customer, cleaning tables and floors, taking phone call bookings, and providing professional and excellent customer service. In this hotel, along with our walk-in restaurant, we take functions that can range between as little 10 people to as large as 300. I have worked as part of the teams for functions of all sizes, from christenings to funerals to the Gordon Bennett Steam Rally to parties coming home from the Pope's visit in August and everything in between. The smallest function I have catered for was that of 15 people, while the largest function I have catered for was that of 250 people. I also work as a bartender in this hotel. While working as a bartender I have gained very valuable experience in serving alcoholic beverages while also improving my customer service skills by talking with and serving the regular customers that frequent the hotel.
