About Ciara Rukse

Ciara Rukse has been working in public health for over 7 years. She has a BBA in Healthcare management and Healthcare Communication studies, a Masters of Public Health in Social Behavioral Sciences and recently earned her Doctorate in Public Health. Her areas of interest are the social and emotional impact of Chronic Conditions. She started as a Prevention and Wellness Intern at a County Health Department in West Virginia and became their Prevention and Wellness Coordinator. During that time she worked on projects ranging from Diabetes self management programs, immunization grants, and substance use disorders. Ciara worked closely with community based organizations to develop a community health improvement plan. From there she became an epidemiologist for the WV WW program. Her and her husband moved to NC with their three dogs around 3.5 years ago, where Ciara started as the Data Manager for the NC WW Program. She currently is the Program Manager.
