I have four years of research experience having worked for Rocket Science for three years and a gender equality think tank before that. Preceding this, I volunteered for education charity IntoUniversity, providing me with a strong sense of the charity sector. Rocket Science is a research organisation that supports third sector and public sector organisations (e.g. charities, local authorities, schools and the NHS) by providing advice and expertise on service design, delivery and evaluation to help services better meet the needs of the people using them. Rocket Science offers monitoring and evaluation services, support with programme design and strategic advice across four main themes: employment and skills; health and wellbeing; poverty and welfare; and charities and civil society. Working across this range of themes positioned me well to understand intersecting issues, to have a holistic view of the third sector and public sector, and to connect with people using services.Whilst completing this research I was also a lead in peer research techniques. As part of this I would recruit and train members of communities to work on research projects alongside us. Peer research empowers the people involved, leads to more accurate and honest findings, provides access to less heard voices and enables peer researchers to develop new skills.If you would like to chat about working together, please get in touch!
