Philadelphia READS was founded in 1997 as an independent initiative of Mayor Rendell's office under the leadership of literacy guru Marcienne Mattleman. While our programs have evolved over the years the one thing that has remained constant, is that we continue to ensure that Philadelphia is raising a city of readers. Services delivered to community include:-Providing new and gently used books to children and families, teachers, schools, and other nonprofit partners.-Offering literacy and support programs for children and families across the city.-Generating excitement and a love of reading by engaging children and partnering with families, volunteers, schools, faith-based organizations, corporations, nonprofits, government, and the entire community!Responsibilities Included:-Scheduling for Executive Director-Facilitating internal and external communication (between ED, other employees, constituents)-General administrative duties (i.e. screening phone calls, answering emails, maintaining office appearance, taking minute meetings, etc.)-Attending networking events with ED with other non-profits in order to build connections for future collaboration -Synthesizing data and translated data to graphs and charts for annual report-Offering support to Program Director and other departments as necessary
