Working in the construction Support department of the Middle East's Largest Contracting Company. Involved in both supporting live projects and giving detailed Value Engineering solutions and Method Analysis to the tendering department for Major Infrastructural projects over the Middle East and Africa.Preparing Technical Submissions for a variety of Major Infrastructural Projects, including metro rail works and expressways . Using the scheduling software TILOS to provide logistical support for the planning phase of expressway/railway projects.

Involved in Tendering and Programming of Large Civil Engineering Projects, in excess of QAR 1.5 billion. Primarily large highway/tunnel works with extensive earthworks, structures, drainage, treated sewage effluent, water mains and EHV/HV upgrades/relocations. Also worked on the Salwa Road Project focusing on structures, (including cut and cover), earthworks, excavation and rock processing activities.Responsibilities included:• Overseeing Civil aspects of tenders for various Highway Works.• Looking at plant efficiencies and resource type for the main structural works and excavations on site• Presenting proposed bid to client, detailing value engineering proposals.• Programming the works, establishing time, cost and performance goals.• Procurement schedule set up for successful tenders• Ensuring that all works were carried out in accordance with company’s Safety and Quality Management Systems.

Contracted works included site clearance, pre earthworks drainage box culverts, utility installation, mainline drainage, elevated and at grade station construction, earthworks, ballast construction and CESS formation. I was tasked with the management of all aspects of the Civil Projects from Tender through the full life cycle until final settlement. Works undertaken included Motorway Construction, Earthworks, Rock Processing, Pavement Construction, Structures, Drainage and Utilities. . I was also heavily involved in the setup and maintenance of ISO 9001 Quality Management System in preparation for company accreditation. Graduate Site Engineer moving to Section Engineer. tasked with the site engineering for a 4km bypass of Newry Co Down, Northern Ireland. Terrain was difficult involving large amounts of Rock Excavation, Blasting and Processing. Drainage and Utilities were also part of the scope involved.
