My role with EcoMondis saw me managing high value accounts with outlets across Europe. EcoMondis manufactures a green alternative fuel from waste, eliminating the need for landfill in Ireland, which is shipped to Europe to generate heat and electricity.My role was to identify key clients and negotiate contracts with these potential clients, and then manage the relationship thereafter. I also oversaw the completion of all authority documentation, a complex and time consuming requirement. This was an ongoing task which requires close attention to detail and constant scrutiny.

As part of my role, I had two 8-month placements. From May ’11 to Dec’11, I worked on the Kerrygold marketing team. I had a wide and varied role that included market data analysis, NPD & market research projects, and customer service functions. I also oversaw aspects surrounding the launch of the new logo across the Kerrygold range, which entailed packaging design coordination, sourcing and purchasing of POS and other promotional material for markets across the world. From August ‘10 to May ’11, based in Wincanton UK, I was part of the marketing team at Pilgrims Choice, the #2 cheddar brand in the UK market. It is part of the IDB subsidiary Adams Foods Ltd. I was heavily involved in data analysis to drive sales and marketing strategy, social media campaigns, packaging design and POS sourcing. I also ran the re-design project of the Adams Foods website.

I combined roles with both Heatricity and DAL, as my employer owned both companies. Heatricity, a renewable technology and energy provider, was my primary responsibility. I had responsibility for developing the marketing material, website, product offering and a comprehensive business plan. As a start-up, I was regularly required to work on my own initiative, developing strong relationships with Enterprise Ireland, customers and potential investors, amongst others.Within DAL, one of the largest Air Conditioning companies in Ireland, I played a key role in re-branding, by re-designing the website, developing new target customer databases, analysing markets and performance. By identifying the strengths and the weaknesses of the business, I also helped DAL restructure its commercial focus, to meet market conditions more effectively.

My responsibilities included teaching and supervising classes consisting of between 5 and 30 pupils. Each day was different as I worked in every subject area throughout the six months. I also successfully assisted the transition year class setting up their mini company. The skills I applied included management, tutoring skills, communication skills, thinking on my feet, conflict management and patience!
