Ciarán has organised and lead international delegations providing strategic input to future EU research programmes and has participated in EU Commission workshops on improving the opportunities for industrial participation in future research and innovation programmes. As a previous national lead on member state input to future European Industry Driven Initiatives for Horizon Europe - the next EU research and innovation framework programme, Ciarán brings a comprehensive understanding and working knowledge of the European funding landscape. With over 12 years experience as Member State Representative, National Delegate and Contact Point to both Framework Programme 7 and Horizon 2020 programmes including the Innovative Medicines Initiative, and Active Assisted Living Joint Programming, as well as 12 years as Senior Scientific Officer with Enterprise Ireland - the government organisation responsible for the development and growth of Irish enterprises in world markets, Ciarán can work with you to provide a comprehensive understanding of the EU RD&I landscape and help align your research interests to specific funding opportunities, stakeholder groups, strategic networks and platforms across the EU to bring greater engagement, funding success and market growth opportunities for your organisation. Ciarán also has experience as an expert evaluator for the European Commission.
