Be-cause is a boutique PR agency that works with multinationals, brands and NGOs across a range of sectors - including sustainability, education, healthcare, and fintech. The main focus of my role is the production of top-quality copy for press releases, research reports, and any additional ad hoc projects. On the account management side, I liaise daily with high-profile clients to assist with and provide input on traditional and social media campaigns. My role also includes the distribution of press releases to relevant media publications, as well as pitching clients for interviews to broadcast media. Some of the clients I have worked with include PayFast, Crimson Education, Humane Society International, and STAG African.

Gay Pages is South Africa's only glossy gay print magazine. I produce queer-themed articles that are entertaining, thoughtful, and often educational. Topics I've covered range from homophobic slurs to the history of gay representation in video games.

Responsible for the management of the OnceHub knowledgebase. Worked on the overhaul of the knowledge base and co-created the OnceHub style and tone of voice guide.Current duties involve writing and updating help articles that are both useful to Customers and adhere to the OnceHub style and tone of voice guide, as well as reviewing UI and Feature page copy.

(6-month contract) Synthesizing technical information, processes and professional language into scripts for learning videos. This position involves understanding complex, niche systems and being able to communicate the workings of these systems in a way that is easy to understand for learners in the hospitality industry. Tasks include writing voiceover scripts as well as copy editing scripts written by others to ensure that they translate effectively into a video format.

This role involved overseeing various operations in studio in order to ensure the smooth execution of a daily live show including: creating running orders; preparing Guests; communicating the intention and scope of each show with the studio crew; ensuring the show runs on time as per SABC FCC and ensuring the each show aligns with the principles and goals of Hectic Nine 9 and SABC.

Created over 100 hours of quality youth edutainment Television. Synthesising important lessons into fun, engaging scripts for a one-hour, daily live television show. Researching and writing studio scripts for Hectic Nine-9 that are of a high standard and take into account not only content delivery but also logistics, creative direction, reality of execution and relevance of concept to the context of our viewers (and LSM). This involves strict adherence to deadlines and constant creative re-imagining of perspectives. Due to the nature of Live TV, it also requires versatility and malleability in terms of script and content - the ability to skillfully implement last-minute changes and deal with high-pressure situations.
