Having initially started this role on a six month temporary contract my position was made permanent.I am personally responsible for designing, developing and delivering a training programme that is aligned to the national standards and referenced within the NFCC Competence Framework for Fire Safety Regulators.The Skills For Justice accredited training programme that I have built made ECFRS one of the first services in the country to deliver the Skills For Justice Level 2 Award in Carrying Out Fire Safety Checks using in house staff.Through training delivery and CPD I aim to equip both new and existing members of staff who undertake fire safety checks and audits with the knowledge and skills required to effectively complete their role.Ultimately this contributes to the achievement of goals of the Protection department and wider organisational objectives which ultimately leads to safer communities.Additionally I am able to continue to develop my operational skills while supporting appliance availability at on-call stations through engagement with the service Day Duty Officer Riding programme.

Following my experience as a Temporary Crew Manager I gained a permanent position as substantive Crew Manager.In this role I was responsible for supporting the management and development of a 12 person watch.Responsibilities include:• Delivering training to ensure development, achievement and maintenance of skills and competencies for colleagues with varying levels of experience from apprentice to experienced firefighter• Leading in engagement with community initiatives and completion of protection activities • Operational response to incidents as Level 1 Incident Commander or as a member of the wider command team

Posted to Harlow Town fire station from Service Training Centre which allowed me to serve my local community.During this period I was able to develop my operational skills and capabilities while also focusing on professional studies.I was able to gain experience as both Acting and Temporary Crew Manager which prepared me for my next role.
