Worked at the Centre for Abuse & Trauma Studies (CATS) in Middlesex University London. In my previous position at UCD I was part of two projects simultaneously in partnership with Middlesex University. I was Research Assistant on the EU Child Safety Online Project. This project is funded by the European Commission ISEC fund. I was part of a multidisciplinary team with members from across Europe such as the UK, Italy and Holland. The project seeked to draw together the evidence on online offender and victim behaviour including: online grooming possession, collection and distribution of indecent child images identification of policing and industry best practice in prevention. The second project I worked on was ‘Youth Pathways into Cybercrime’. This was in conjunction with Europol and Middlesex University London. The research project was established to draw together existing recent evidence on online behavior and associations with criminal and antisocial behaviour amongst young people. Specifically, it was designed to explore the trajectories and pathways that lead to ‘cyber-criminality’ through a series of mixed-methodological endeavors and the integration of theoretical frameworks across criminology and psychology, including cyberpsychology and computer science. I have previously worked at the Royal College of Surgeons where I was named first author on a paper called ‘Cyber babies: The impact of emerging technology on the developing infant’. This has been published in ‘Psychology Research’ online journal. I also worked on a research paper entitled; ‘A consideration of the social impact of cybercrime: Examples from hacking, piracy, and child pornography online’. This has been published in Taylor and Francis’ Contemporary Social Science Journal of the Academy of Social Sciences. I obtained my undergraduate Psychology degree from University College Dublin in 2008. I completed my MSc in Forensic Psychology at Coventry University in the UK in 2010.
