Windows 7 migration of approx 350 applications from an XP environment to Windows 7 hosted on fat and thin clients using Citrix Xenapp and SCCM 2012 deployment technologies. Proof of concept was followed by Design, Implementation, Testing/UAT and Delivery. Packaging tools included App-v 5, MSI and scripted delivery via SCCM 2012.

I led a very large and ambitious project to virtualize the desktop for this oganisation using Citrix, SCCM with App-V integration on Windows 7 and Windows 2008 R2, in conjunction with traditional MSI packaging for Fat Client. From Initiation through to Delivery, the team built an internal cloud Service Delivery platform, with automated processes for application package delivery. We virtualised some large applications including the entire SAP suite of client apps as part of the project. We also solved 3rd level issues around App-V and SCCM integration which involved writing scripts to debug/solve/report on difficult issues.

Supporting the virtualization environment for up to 4000 clients on desktops and Citrix servers, providing application solutions where necessary, reverse engineering existing solutions and migrating to new SCCM based environment.
