During my time with the News Online East team I took on a number of different roles and attachments.My core role involves writing original content for the BBC website, but I also spent a year writing and editing the rolling news Local Live platform for the East region.I undertook three attachments with BBC Radio Northampton, each six months long. One was focusing on off-diary reporting, while the other two were as its Political Reporter.I also spent six months at the regional Impact Hub working on deep dive investigative reports, and worked on a placement at Radio 4’s Face the Facts programme.

Responsibilities include sourcing, investigating and recording relevant news from the Milton Keynes area. This includes both covering live events and setting up guests for the Breakfast and Drivetime shows.

Responsibilities include running a busy newsdesk, deputising in the absence of the paper's editor, allocating stories and maintaining the news diary, subbing and proofing pages, maintaining contact with leading members of Milton Keynes society and attending important events in the city. I am also the newspaper's superuser for its website and maintain its Twitter and Facebook accounts.

Underwent a seven month secondment at Buckingham & Winslow Advertiser, a paid for weekly newspaper, while the editor was n maternity leave. The role also covers the Brackley & Towcester Advertiser and Bicester Review titles.

Responsibilities included overseeing the newspaper's content, placing stories, organising the photographic diary, managing the newsdesk and liaising with the advertising team at a time when the H&P had recently been bought by Iliffe News and Media. Along with the paper's production editor, I was effectively editing the paper and its website.

After Leighton Buzzard on Sunday was re-launched as a mid-week newspaper, I was appointed as the title's editor, responsible not only for its news content, but also for the leisure and sport sections and the internet site. I also wrote columns for the paper and produced its editorial comment. During my time in charge LB NEWS campaigned against the closure of a local, middle school; launched a special Christmas picture edition and initiated its 'Broken Buzzard' campaign to boost the look and image of the town. It also consistently 'scooped' its rivals, while hitting budget at a time of economic uncertainty.

Duties included running the busy newsdesk for both Luton on Sunday and Leighton Buzzard on Sunday, deputising in the absence of the paper's editor, organising Freedom of Information requests and investigations, and helping develop the paper's websites.

Duties included writing stories for all sections of the paper, including regular front page leads and investigations. Developed a strong contacts base, ranging from leading councillors and MK Dons chairman Pete Winkelman to members of the public. I also spent three months covering MK Dons games, home and away.
