I oversaw all facets of the center’s operations, including budgets, project management, policy development, fundraising, marketing, program evaluation, publishing, and member recruitment and retention. It was truly exciting to create impactful programming. Key initiatives included the 2013 and 2014 Collaborative Bar Leadership Academy, as well as the ABA Presidential “State of Diversity in the Legal Profession” initiative. In addition, I served as the keynote speaker at multiple industry functions, consulted with the ABA and outside groups to raise the center’s profile as a diversity resource, and was instrumental in identifying diverse candidates for ABA Presidential appointments. It was rewarding to see my efforts result in significant systemic change.
