CurrentAs a Community Health Coordinator at Mental Health America of Greater Dallas, I am dedicated to advancing systemic improvements in mental healthcare. My role encompasses a comprehensive approach, including policy advocacy, epidemiological research, and grant management.I actively engage with local policymakers to promote mental health reform and advocate for the decriminalization of mental health and substance use disorders. Through relationship building, education, and advocacy, I work diligently to influence legislation that aligns with our organization’s mission.Additionally, I conduct epidemiological research to analyze the prevalence and impact of mental health challenges within our community. These data-driven insights inform our advocacy efforts and guide the development of effective programs.I am also responsible for identifying, securing, and managing grant funding to support our initiatives. My work involves crafting compelling grant proposals and overseeing the successful implementation of awarded projects.
