As a Community Health Coordinator at Mental Health America of Greater Dallas, I am dedicated to advancing systemic improvements in mental healthcare. In my role as an epidemiologist focused on researching substance use behavior among youth and adolescents in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, my primary responsibility involves obtaining and analyzing state-level datasets on youths' substance use behaviors, sourced from Mental Health American of Greater Dallas mental health and substance use screenings. My research methodology includes employing epidemiological techniques to meticulously examine the prevalence, patterns, risk factors, and protective factors of substance misuse among the targeted demographic. With a keen focus on the unique dynamics of the DFW Metroplex, I am committed to extracting insights that go beyond national trends, ensuring that interventions are specifically tailored to address the local nuances of youth substance use.Following the data analysis phase, my responsibilities extend to the construction of a specially tailored evidence-based intervention program for youth. This program will be meticulously crafted based on the findings from my epidemiological research, to address the specific needs and challenges identified within the DFW Metroplex. As a hands-on epidemiologist, I am dedicated to translating research findings into practical solutions. The culmination of my efforts will involve pilot-testing the intervention program at local in-patient substance use treatment facilities, aiming to prevent the relapse phase in you, while also contribute to the broader discourse on effective intervention strategies within the field.

Tasked with assessing common psychiatric and mental health issues that are prominent within the population of foster kids in Grayson County. Assist in creating policies and plans in order to reduce mental health issues for foster kids from a public health standpoint.

Tasked with coordinating, organizing, and presenting at events in order to raise awareness to breast cancer in the Grayson County and surrounding regions. Held educational events, mainly targeting individuals of lower socioeconomic status and/or those who have barriers accessing healthcare. These events were open to the public and discussed topics such as risk factors, signs and symptoms, how to conduct self-examinations for breast cancer, where to seek care and more. Attendees were supplied with resources to take home which included majority of the information that was discussed during the event.
