I graduated Summa Cum Laude with honors from Liberty University. I studied International Relations with a politics and policy cognate and a minor in Mandarin. Currently, I live in Pohang, South Korea and am pursuing my master's in Global Development and Entrepreneurship at Handong Global University. I have a great passion for justice, human rights, and advocacy, especially regarding children and trafficking victims. I also have a heart to develop and implement solutions that target the root of trafficking, which, more often than not, is poverty. Poverty can lead people to do the unthinkable. However, once people are rescued, what are their alternatives? How can they get back on their feet? I think that often in the emphasis of rescuing lives, the solutions of what happens to victims afterwards becomes overlooked.As I work on my thesis, I am studying the works of other organizations (such as the Grameen Bank in Bangladesh) in micro loans and exploring other business ventures that help eliminate the option of trafficking altogether, but also provide a way for victims to be rehabilitated, reintegrate into society, and find healing.I love humanitarian work and have over six years of international experience. I have had the privilege to work in various regions of the world (through building homes, community development, and teaching) including the Philippines, El Salvador, China, Dominican Republic, and Costa Rica just to name a few. My goal is to work in the Asia Pacific region to rescue victims and better develop communities that provide sustainable economic opportunities so that people can not only overcome obstacles and tragedy, but have a means to truly prosper and flourish! I am an articulate writer and speaker, as well as a strong leader who understands teamwork and excels at encouragement and bringing out the best qualities of those who I am leading. I am quite an extrovert, and I thrive on making connections with people!On the side, I love playing classical violin, weightlifting, endurance running, reading, traveling, and keeping up my language studies!
