I source, appraise, execute, structure and negotiate equity and quasi-equity investments in early stage tech and tech-enabled businesses in Sub-Saharan Africa. I also oversee equity investments in venture capital and seed stage funds across the region. In addition, I manage portfolio related work, creating value for companies and investors alike by offering technical and strategic guidance, as well as tapping into the wealth or resources available at the World Bank Group for my clients.My portfolio includes: Africa's Talking (Board Observer), Kobo360 (Board Observer), Twiga Foods (Board Observer), Andela, TradeDepot, Partech Ventures, TLCom/TIDE Africa Fund. Given our mandate as a Development Financial Institution, my role at the IFC also comprises various upstream initiatives geared at ecosystem development and implementing the World Bank Group's Strategy on the Digital Economy for Africa. As part of this, I have led various projects in SSA promoting the development of digital skills and digital entrepreneurship, including the Digital Gender Ethiopia Project.
