Founder and Executive Director of 501c3 nonprofit - Formidable Joy. The sole mission of Formidable Joy is to provide access to clean water in Malawi, Africa.We fundraise, partner, assess, identify, install, review and celebrate each of our 200+ completed water projects throughout 18 districts in Malawi. Projects can be found in the most remote villages to the largest hospitals and schools in the country.500,000+ people have been impacted by our work.We collaborate with locally-led, community-based partners to identify schools, communities and hospitals in need. To date we've drilled 170+ boreholes, repaired 50+ pumps, installed 25 solar systems, supplied more than 200,000ltrs of reserve water tanks and distributed biosand filters to 70 families in need.Our projects can be found in schools, villages, health clinics, inside Dzaleka Refugee Camp, solar irrigation farms, watering holes for animals and even a prison.We drill new boreholes, repair malfunctioning pumps, install solar water systems, fabricate tank-stands, supply water tanks, distribute biosand filters, and provide training.Notable projects include: installation of the solar water system for Mercy James Centre; the only state-of-the-art children's hospital in Malawi (hospital funded and founded by Madonna), provided 3 new water points at Dzaleka Refugee Camp; largest refugee camp in Malawi, and the implementation of 2 solar watering holes that will impact 14,000 animals in one of the largest national parks in the country.Malawi is one of the poorest countries in the world. An estimated 1/3 of the population lacks access to clean water, forcing communities to rely on dirty water sources - rivers, streams, hand-dug wells/holes. Women and girls bear the responsibility of collecting water for their families.
