Led the transition a large publishing company's software organization to agile practices by training all software teams and coaching teams during the transition. Using SCRUM as the basic foundation, we applied aspects of the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) as well as custom methods more suited to the organization. I created, coordinated, and delivered training on topics such as basic scrum, product ownership (including how to create product roadmaps), writing user stories, scrum master and team agile practices. I coached several teams to help advance their practice and maturity of agile. All those teams that received coaching had noticeable improvement in their adoption and practice of agile methods and became more self-sufficient and produced higher quality software.Led an agile program management organization of 27 agile teams and established a new Digital Services organization of 100+ people, creating processes & procedures for ongoing operations.

I created the eCollege Program Management practice from the ground up and grew the organization from start-up size to a staff of over 30 when acquired by Pearson, Inc. As part of the initial start-up management team, managed, designed and implemented a web-based freight matching application for the transportation industry. Using lean software methodology we were able to build a robust scalable application, from requirements gathering to deployment, in under four months.
