Moved into this role to lead major change initiative to help centralize the Finance function after having provided HR leadership to a number of organizations including Corporate Affairs, Law, Research & Development and Procurement. Managed team of 3.Impact: Spearheaded two-year project to overhaul and centralize Finance function that served 18 business units. Overcame internal resistance, cut staffing overhead 27% and made significant process improvements.  Designed change strategy for huge cultural shift which faced resistance from business units and national HR Directors.  Led restructuring process that eliminated 750 positions and coordinated effective outplacement assistance for displaced employees in the US and Canada.  Redesigned job ladder and career progression for all Finance positions, creating consistent job descriptions and compensation levels across all 18 business lines.

Overview: Managed HR team of 7 for this start-up defense contractor with a workforce that varied between 300 and 600 employees. Reported directly to the facility’s General Manager. Impact: Built entire HR function from the ground up including setting up payroll systems and process, HR policy and procedure, travel policies and recruitment systems. Facilitated creation of Accounts Payable and Receivables department by recruiting and selecting manager who established all processes and systems.  Developed security program, including processes to obtain security clearances for new employees, managing annual audits with DISCO (Department Investigative Security Clearance Operations) and ensuring that the facility complied with Navy requirements. Facilitated revenue growth by ensuring open positions were quickly filled for each time/material contract, and minimizing employee turnover.
