Dr. Charlier spent the first 19 years of her career as a practicing veterinarian and eventual owner of a 22-doctor, three-hospital, AAHA-certified small animal practice group in Chicago. Dr. Charlier is a Diplomate of the American Veterinary Dental College and founded a dentistry and oral surgery referral practice that she operated for 13 years before exiting. In 2004, she founded VDENT (Veterinary Dental Education, Networking & Training) to educate pet owners about the importance of oral health and its impact on all pets. Beginning in 2015, Dr. Charlier worked as a consultant for Midmark Animal Health and partnered with them to create a leading training curriculum for veterinary dentistry. In addition, she served on the Editorial Advisory Board for Today’s Veterinary Practice, the official journal of the NAVC. She was the Head of Clinical Mentorship for GoodVets from 2022-2024.Previously, Dr. Charlier has been recognized by her peers as a recipient of the Dr. Peter Emily Service Award, presented annually to an outstanding Diplomate of the College for contributions to further the field of veterinary dentistry. In 2017, Dr. Charlier was honored to receive the NAVC Small Animal Speaker of the Year Award.Currently Cindy is enjoying life and finding ways to give back to people and their pets. She can often be found on the golf course, tennis courts, in a kayak, fishing, hiking and spending time with family and friends. Life is good!
