I'm a seasoned Registered Nurse with a rich work history of 35 years.Meeting Jesse Jackson and family while having the privilege of caring for his grandmother and training at the Shriners Hospital for Children in Greenville, South Carolina are but a couple of experiences that have added to my rich work history being unique. I've worn many hats as a Registered Nurse-changing opportunities are looked at as chances to broaden experiences. Actual experiences have taught me that my professional value boils down to the following:-Different avenues of the same profession + 35 years = rich work history.-Hospice nursing before actual hospice organizations were born, unique.-Listen actively, not superficially!-Those who actively listen and follow through for their clients build trust.-Leadership was learned after being hand picked by surgeons to be a trauma team circulator in a 24 suite operating room trauma hospital.-Changes in technology while continually learning-BIG example-paper charts now all computerized.-Confidence comes from being the first contact in phone triage of clients and seeing the positive outcomes when correct decisions are made. -I'm the one who takes "Laughter is the Best Medicine" to heart. Humor is contagious!-I'm excited about using my "twilight years" as a registered nurse to continue being the best advocate for clients.
