The College of Global Futures was created from SFIS (previous job), the School of Sustainability and the School of Complex Adaptive Systems. EarthCube is funded by the National Science Foundation. Its goal is to change the way geoscientists store, retrieve, access, and use data. In short, it's trying to create a better cyberinfrastructure for geoscientists. This is a huge undertaking and ambitious project. EarthScope is a collaborative, nation-wide effort to better understand tectonic movement of North America due to earthquakes and volcanic activity. Funded by the National Science Foundation ($2.4 million over a four year period for the ASU National Office) it also worked towards creating a 3D geologic map of Earth focusing on North America. My role as Program Manager was to oversee our budget; expenditures and reimbursements, oversee the production of our quarterly publication, inSights, that was mailed to over 1,000 colleges and universities in the US, supervised two students, oversaw logistical arrangements for meetings, conferences, and workshops, coordinated our Speaker Series program, and provided overall general management of the National Office.
