I am a passionate advocate for students with dyslexia. I advise schools on how best practices for teaching the dyslexic students in their classrooms through online training Dyslexia Friendly Classroom, as well as Zoom and in person workshops. I consult with parents who suspect their child may be dyslexic, and help them develop plans for helping their child. I can't resist privately tutoring a few dyslexic students using the Orton-Gillingham approach.

I tutor individuals with dyslexia using the Orton-Gillingham approach.

I will guide schools though steps for establishing a dyslexia center in their school. I will lead teacher development on the area of dyslexia. I will assist in setting up Orton-Gillingham training classes for teachers with an AOGPE Fellow.I will tutor dyslexic students using the Orton-Gillingham approach.

I am co-teaching a small, combined elementary classroom with several identified dyslexic students as well as traditional learners. My goal is to give the best possible instruction to all students while employing kinesthetic methods, ideas from the science of learning and knowledge of how learning happens in the brain, that will enhance learning for the dyslexic students, while keeping the interest of all students.

Planned, implemented and manage a dyslexia center that operates inside a private Christian school. Duties include interviewing and hiring tutors and small group teachers, new student evaluations and interviews, scheduling private tutoring lessons and small groups during the school day, supervising tutors and small group teachers, evaluating and selecting materials to be used in tutoring and small group lessons, interfacing with parents, answering dyslexia related questions from members of the community, planning and running Quarterly Parent Forum meetings, weekly staff meetings, arranging for trainers to come in to train my teachers as well as area teachers in Orton-Gillingham approach, write weekly newsletter, create social media presence for our center, sub for any tutor or small group teacher, conduct dyslexia screenings for LLCA students or members of the Athens community, coordinate with area testing facilities when students need to be referred for further testing.

Created and taught lessons for dyslexic students using the Orton-Gillingham approach. Scheduled, billed, conferenced with parents and teachers, developed progress monitoring testing system to ensure high quality and measurable results.
