Coordinated business operations for 600-employee directorate of this Department of Energy research facility with $200 million in annual operations funding. Directed requirements and delivery of all aspects of business operations including funds management, research proposals, strategic planning and quality, process assessment and improvement, auditing and compliance, budget development and control, project management, decision support and regulatory reporting, data systems, HR, contracts, and administrative support.

Provided financial and consulting services in the operations of the non-profit fundraising business. Worked closely with Board of Directors and various oversight agencies to ensure compliance. Led effort to improve business operations from simple cash based manual process to more efficient automated system with adequate internal controls and safeguards, resulting in doubling annual fundraising revenues. Other projects including engagement of CPA firm to perform annual audits and preparing loan package to obtain $4 million building construction loan. Ongoing services including managing daily transactions in QuickBooks, preparing monthly Board reports, purchasing, payroll and HR, and external interface with bank, auditors, and regulators.

Led financial aspects of this Department of Energy $12 billion project from start-up through government termination, then retained by DOE to manage closeout of business affairs as final project employee.

Managed financial and operations aspects of commercial bank from start-up charter through rapid asset growth, then led preparation and approval of Federal Reserve holding company application.
