• Provide counsel to all levels of management on a variety of issues that could result into charges of discrimination or employment lawsuits. • Recommend and implement actions to limit corporate liability in the legal and administrative areas.• Investigate discrimination charges and sexual harassment complaints. • Provide recommendation to leadership on cases that should be settled while working with legal counsel in the settlement process. • Travel to company facilities and assist management with appropriate action needed to resolve employee complaints or other issues. • Responsible for the corporate compliance, monitor and interpret Federal and State and Provincial labor laws and regulations. • Stay abreast of all current and new states that legalize marijuana and decipher how it will affect the Company’s Drug-Free policy or DOT program. • Manage subordinate personnel in the Workplace Solutions, Background Check and Drug Testing, Immigration Program and Unemployment Division of Human Resources. • Interview, hire, delegate responsibilities, evaluate performance, initiate wage increases, promotions, demotions and administer disciplinary action up to and including termination.• Assist managers in keeping the unemployment costs down, by providing them with guidance in the hiring and training process.• Review new and current contracts to determine the best financial outcome for the Company. • Provide support to all management team in US and Canada, regarding claims or charges of discrimination, labor laws, settlements, and compliance. (32,000 team members)• Responsible for creating and maintain the process flow for state and federal report requirement such as EEO-1 reporting and pay equity.
