I have always been attracted to the food service industry. In my university years I took every available opportunity to learn everything I could because that is my nature. Little did I know that it would provide me a rewarding and satisfying career. The majority of my full-time working career has been spent with Imago Restaurants Inc., a privately owned company that operates a number of British style pubs in downtown Toronto. I was recruited by the president some 36 years ago to run his flagship restaurant; as the company grew and evolved, so did I. Today I am the Executive Vice President and COO and essentially run the company.My focus is, and always has been, on neighbourhood marketing. Even though our pubs are all located in a relatively small area of downtown Toronto, each has a distinct clientele that demands its version of our experience - food, drink, service and ambience.For the past ten years I have sat on the Board of Directors of Restaurants Canada. In 2021 I was the Chair of the Board during a significantly trying time for our industry and Imago. Today we are both learning how to move forward and seek a better future for our employees and our businesses. I currently sit on the boards of GroupEx, an industry group purchasing organization, and the Canadian Hospitality Foundation.
