I am an individual with a strong thirst for knowledge, who sees cloud, big data, data mining, statistics, and social analytic as the next frontier in building a more robust and personnel customer experience. A properly designed cloud, be it in, Private Cloud (Your Data Center), AWS, Azure, Oracle Cloud, etc is critical for the faster development, deployment, and release of your product. I also believe in automated collaborative build efforts, by using technology, such as Github and/or Bit Bucket to source your code (Java, Python, Ruby, Puppet, Chef, Vagrant, etc) interfaced with Jenkins for deployment, in order to create a service catalog for you organization. There are also many other products out there that do the same things and more, and that is where a good architect is always learning in order to glean what is best for the customer in order to surge forward.Through the smart use of technologies to meet each companies individual data needs, I hope to push high performance response, with a cost effective solution. It can be a multi-million dollar Oracle RAC Exadata Database Appliance, for perhaps banking, medical, or military industry. Where my Oracle OCP certifications from 7 to 11g, and 20 years of experience with Oracle technology from RAC configuration and Performance Analysis can come into play.It can be a massive server farm, of low cost blades, using MySQL Clustering, with Shard Data Distribution, to help give Scalable Big Data Analytic, for Insurance Actuaries, Target Marketing, or Medical Research (Protein Data Banks). My UNIX scripting skills and data performance experience, can be used to automate server and data node build outs to allow for new virtual hardware to be added on an add needed basis.

Devops ManagerSpirion Aug 2021 - PresentTampa, Florida, United StatesMy team leadership style is that of coach, where each team member hosts a lunch a learn on their topic of expertise, and the sessions are recorded for other teams to learn with as well. I believe management should lead by example, and hand on approach when needed to help mentor talent to their highest potential. -
Devops ArchitectSpirion Dec 2018 - Aug 2021Tampa/St. Petersburg, Florida AreaAs DevOps Architect, I am working on bringing DevOps Principles to a green field project, while at same time retrofitting, current deployment practice to meet the automated principals of DevOps. I am leading a small geographically dispersed team to serve an technology evangelists to help build and prove how DevOps culture, can serve as a force multiplier in reducing all user stories time to market. -
Devops ManagerCatalina Usa Jul 2018 - Dec 2018Tampa/St. Petersburg, Florida AreaAs DevOps Manager, I lead a team of 9 people geographically located around the globe. Our task was to uplift manual cloud VM based deployments to a Continuous Improvement (CI) Lifecycle, into Azure and Google Cloud. This is accomplished through the use of Jenkins Pipelines, Bitbucket / GitHub, Build / Test Containers, Private Container Repositories, Docker Swarm / Kubernetes, Helm and Canary Release Models. This allows for the automation of production releases, which improve time to market. My team leadership style is that of coach, where each team member hosts a lunch a learn on their topic of expertise, and the sessions are recorded for other teams to learn with as well. I use “Fire Drills”, where errors are placed into test systems for the team to solve, this allows for faster response in production emergencies. All DevOps designed (Hadoop & Docker) clusters by default are built with HA, Auto Scaling, and DR Capabilities, through the use of clusters, multi-regional storage accounts, load balancers, and DNS switch over for regional DR. Azure Virtual Machine Scale Sets where used in Azure, and Cloud Break in Google. All clusters were built with internal IPs, and outside access was controlled via API Gateways. -
Enterprise Solutions ArchitectCatalina Usa May 2018 - Jul 2018Tampa/St. Petersburg, Florida AreaPulling together my cloud and data architecture experience to design and implement a highly scalable, and highly available Hybrid Cloud Docker Swarm cluster for Dev, QA, and Production. These environments are all autogenerated through scripting, and complete CI (Continuous Improvement) is accomplished through the integration of SCMs (Github, Bitbucket and Gitlab), with Jenkin's Pipelines, which auto build and test code committed to the SCMs. These Pipelines auto build and push the end products into Docker containers (Docker-hub and Private Repositories), which are then immediately available for DEVOPS to release with a push of a button to QA and Prod. While the design and implementation are important, I feel the true success of the process is the ability to energize and invigorate the corporate engineering culture, through technology evangelism, lunch and learns, and hands on labs.It is through this acceptance of diversity of thought, that corporate objectives can become supercharged. -
Senior Data ArchitectCatalina Usa Jul 2017 - Jul 2018Tampa/St. Petersburg, Florida AreaCombining all my skills in cloud, data, and IOT hardware to form repeatable, scalable, and dependable solutions for Catalina, with major operational savings.Working on short timeline project, that involves migrating a WES 9 application (2 million lines of code) to unix solution, using node.js, ZeroMQ (0MQ), and ELK (Elasticsearch, Logstash, and Kibana) ( < 10,000 lines of code) capable of running on same hardware configuration, with software deployment of minimal outage, and no impact to over 48,000 active stores.Working on high performance data ingestion toolset, that will allow for elastic cloud compute to accommodate large data ingestion when needed, and ability to throttle down to save costs during periods of low ingestion of data, allowing for major savings in operation costs. -
Senior Cloud Infrastructure ArchitectCatalina Marketing Oct 2015 - Jul 2017Tampa/St. Petersburg, Florida AreaI worked on designing and implementing Open Hybrid Could Architecture, blending Physical Cloud (VMware, Hyper-V [2012 R2], Stand Alone Servers, all software on HP ProLiant) with Azure / AWS (Amazon) Cloud. I created Datacenter/Cloud Standardizations that were reviewed as a case study by Microsoft for its ability to be robust and quickly deployable. I wrote automated routing (CIDR Mapping) table generator that was key to faster Azure Network Deployments, in PowerShell scripts.Work on StorSimple Appliances to server as standardized Backup repository for VMWare and Hyper-V VM images via an iSCSI connection.Setup of Hyper-V server farm for company Hackathon, were 20 Centos 7.2 servers were created within 2 hours with use of automated scripting and network standardization.During Company Hackathon I created JSON parser that pulled twitter feeds into a relational structure running on an Oracle Database, where social analytics could be run against the data determining tweets word strength and positivity/negativity rating. During next Hackathon, I wrote JSON parser that loaded public data feeds (weather), and used this data to supplement Catalina Marketing’s Sales feed to get a shoppers perspective on buying patterns based on weather patterns. -
Senior Oracle DbaCatalina Marketing May 2014 - Oct 2015Tampa/St. Petersburg, Florida AreaI designed, planned, and implemented a MySQL HA solution using Centos and Redhat 7.2, DRBD, pacemaker, and Corosync, with Percona Hot Backup running on Slave, with all NICs having Team (Bonded) connections to network. This design allowed for all system components to have at least one level of redundancy for complete data protection.I migrated, multiple Oracle 9.2 Databases to Oracle 11.2.4 (on AIX) with outage window per move limited to 2 hours. Databases sizes varied from 300GB to 1.2TB. -
Senior Oracle DbaRobmar, Inc. Nov 2010 - Apr 2014Orlando, Florida AreaWorked on 6TB 4 Node RAC with 4 Node Read Only Standby Database used for Walt Disney World’s Next Generation Experience (NGE) … This was a guest experience project that used arm bands with long and short range RFIDs, to track room, park, luggage, reservation, ride, and purchase experiences. My role was focused on performance, architecture, and continuous uptime of this system as it pertained to the Oracle Database Environment. I was also tasked with architecting zero outage application upgrades through the use of Oracle Edition Based Redefinition.Wrote multiple installation documents for Walt Disney World in relation to Oracle RAC Installation, Active Data Guard Installation, Oracle Cluster ASM Installation, OEM Agent Install and Flashback Recovery. Completed the development and implementation of a 300 GB Oracle RAC database, for the Labor Demand Planning System. Part of this process was the tuning of the PL/SQL stored procedures and process, as was the case of optimizing a 24-hour job to 1 hour, though the use of partitioning, parallel processing, and modification of code. This improvement was so substantial, that the user community was able to generate 3 times the original planned workload for the system upon implementation.I wrote PL/SQL process that allowed for creation and migration of hierarchal data from one system to another helping with faster application testing, performance testing, staging of data for application. Wrote and implemented Maestro Job to automate refresh of development and QA database from production using Oracle Data Pump, and automated refresh of Sandbox using RMAN duplicate.

Senior Oracle DbaTeksystems May 2009 - Sep 2010Orlando, Florida AreaMy responsibilities at Lockheed Martin were support of JAMES project, a new logistics system for use by the British Ministry of Defense. This contract covered the timeframe of system development, testing, performance analysis, implementation, and ended with System Acceptance Testing (SAT) by customer. The JAMES system contains 5 databases, Main RAC, Reporting RAC, Auditing RAC, Ad-hoc RAC, DCT (loading system). There are also 4 supporting databases, OEM repository, RMAN repository, Business Objects Repository, and Business Objects Auditing Repository. The development, integration, and performance system consisted of 3 Egenera Servers with 24 blades each, running Redhat 5, with 3Par Storage. There were over 80 development, 1 integration, and 1 performance system with multiple database states available to the developers. Most of my work was done as an Oracle DBA lead with a focus on mentoring company talent. This was done through close interaction with other team members, and peer reviews of my scripts and processes. This allowed for an easy transition for company staff to handle operational support of my code, upon release to production environment.
