From 1976-1980, I was secretary to Don Geiger & Bill Kopatich (deceased) and the Audit staff until Wolf & Company (as it was known then) merged with Deloitte Haskins & Sells. Following the merge, there was an immediate need in the Tax Department, so was moved there. When we adopted our infant daughter, I left to enjoy being a full-time mom. Don re-hired me in 1992 in a para-professional role (new position) on the audit staff to utilize my ability to compose proposal letters to clients, critique audit report letters for better wording, typos, etc., write articles, and special projects. I also worked on 401(K) and ESOP quarterly/annual reports, monthly record keeping of cafeteria plans that included generating checks. In June 1994, Jim Deiotte, Senior Tax Manager at the time, recruited me to the Tax Department as lead secretary. Responsibilities included but were not limited to meeting needs of a 22-member department, supervision of one secretary, send out tax returns, maintaining due-date lists for clients so deadlines were not missed, meeting minutes, ordering supplies & publications for the Tax Department.
