Serve as a Faculty Advisor/Instructor for graduate students pursuing an online master's degree in Family & Consumer Sciences Education.

Responsibilities included advising, recruitment, and teaching in the programs for the Bachelor of Applied Arts and Sciences (BAAS), Bachelor of Career and Technical Education (BCTE), and Master of Education (M.Ed.) with an emphasis in Career and Technical Education (CTE) degrees.Teaching responsibilities include undergraduate and graduate online courses in history and philosophy of CTE, curriculum design, methods of teaching, instructional facility design, legal issues, program evaluation and planning, assessment and evaluation, administration and supervision, and other CTE courses as needed.

As a Research Associate/Teaching Assistant for the Family and Consumers Sciences Education Department, I taught face-to-face and online undergraduate and graduate courses and published three journal articles, as well as a "Marketing the FCS Brand" Chapter in an eBook that is currently under review. As a Project Assistant for the AchieveTexas College & Career Initiative, I developed new career cluster and career development and planning resources using a digital LiveBinder tool; assisted and presented in numerous presentations with the Project Coordinator at regional, state, and national conferences/workshops; and redesigned our website (www.achievetexas.org) to increase participation on this site, as well as added a Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Pinterest presence.

Using the Moodle platform, I developed and taught online high school course curriculum for the following Business and Information Technology courses: Money Matters, Dollars & Sense, Banking & Financial Services, and Digital & Interactive Media.

This part-time position allowed me to truly make an impact on the success of new Career and Technical Education teachers. I researched and provided new instructional resources as it related to the teacher's particular teaching field; provided a wide variety of classroom management strategies to help teachers keep students engaged and motivated to learn in the classroom; and explained the importance of being passionate about their role as a teacher in helping students realize their potential for achieving success now and in the future, to name a few.

Developed/Updated annually CTE district plan to improve the various programs offered and the success of our students in those programs; which resulted in adding 35+ new CTE courses and 15 new industry certification opportunities;Added 38 new articulated postsecondary credit opportunities, as well as five new dual college credit opportunities through seamless transition agreements in Automotive Technology, Business, Child Development, Health Science, and Manufacturing;Received one of five Texas Education Agency 3-year grants to pilot weighted funding at the middle school level, which increased the number of students participating in these courses by 50%.Developed and implemented marketing strategies for promoting CTE in the district and community, which resulted in 97% of the district's secondary students participating in CTE programs;Provided quality professional development opportunities in CTE (in-services, workshops/meetings, sharing research and best practices), which increased the teacher retention rate by 30% and increased the number of new CTE teachers by 50%;Provided opportunities for integration of CTE and academic standards into 9-12 curricula and assessments through the development of an A2E2 Algebra/Agriculture Exploration course and a Geometry-in-Construction course;Developed and initiated new summer online CTE courses (Career Connections and BCIS) that provided students with flexibility in their course schedule to add additional CTE courses during the regular school year; andServe(d) on the Frenship High School Long-Range Planning Committee (2011-2012); Frenship ISD Master Plan Committee (2005-08); District Education Improvement Council (2003-2006, 2010-2012); Frenship High School Site-Based Decision Making Committee (2003-2008); Frenship High School Facilities Planning Committee (2004-2008); District Building Planning Committee (2005-2008); District Technology Committee (2005-2012); District Textbook Committee (2003-2004).

In addition to the normal responsibilities an administrator has on a secondary high school campus, we added 15+ new CTE programs that were a labor market demand in our community and region; Developed new CTE partnerships with postsecondary and business partners by adding 35 new articulated college credit agreements and developed/added program advisory councils to help teachers stay up-to-date on the latest industry developments in helping their students become successful while in high school and beyond; Provided many professional development opportunities to help teachers take advantage of new teaching resources to enhance their curriculum and program; andEstablished a successful marketing campaign that highlighted the success of current students in recruiting new students in all of the CTE program areas offered in this school district, which resulted in 92% of the district's students being enrolled in CTE courses.

Taught a variety of secondary business and technology courses, as well as provided work-based learning experiences for junior and senior students; Served as CTE Department Chair (1992-97) where we collaborated to develop new courses, as well as new recruitment opportunities in helping students see the value of these courses; Served on the Campus Performance Objectives Council (1995-97) to develop a campus improvement plan in increasing student success; Served as Business Professionals of America (BPA) Advisor, 1990-1999 where I had many students win regional, state and national awards, as well as served in various officer positions at those levels; and Served as BPA Regional Advisor, 1993-96, in developing our annual BPA Regional Conference where students competed in many areas to advance to the state level.

Taught various business and technology courses and became the first sponsor to develop a Yearbook Club and yearbook for this campus.
