Additionally, I review insurance property claims files submitted by independent insurance field adjusters, ensuring that they are in compliance with the insurance carrier's guidelines and standards. I also work with Xactimate and Xactanalysis, two of the most widely used software tools in the industry. I have a keen eye for detail, accuracy, and consistency, and I use my analytical skills to identify and resolve any issues or discrepancies in the claim files. Reviewing insurance property claims files submitted by Independent Insurance Field Adjusters. Additionally, during Catastrophe events performing as a QA Team Lead training and supporting a team of QA Examiners. This involves ensuring that the claim files are in compliance with the insurance carrier's guidelines for how to prepare their claim files. This also includes working in Xactimate and Xactanalysis daily. Once I finish with the file, then it is submitted to the carrier for their review, coverage determination, and completion with the insured. This review process includes viewing the inspection photos, reading the adjuster’s inspection narrative report for sensical and accurate content while also looking for any missing needed information, and proofreading for grammar and spelling errors; then reviewing the adjuster’s written estimate for the cost of the repairs. The estimate has many variables to check for accuracy; Measurements, Quantities, Coverage $ limits, Deductible, Sketch of the damaged property, and if the adjuster followed the insurance carrier’s guidelines for how they want their estimates written. The Photo Report, The Narrative Report, and the Estimate must all agree with each other. This review process calls for an eye for detail and is very detailed work. It is a team effort between the adjuster, me, and management to get the claim file ship shape before sending it to the insurance carrier.

  • Nationwide
Property Insurance Cat Field Team Lead
    Nationwide Feb 2012 - Sep 2016
    Central Plains Claim Zone Usa
I was promoted to a Team Lead position in 2012 leading, supervising existing team members, and training brand new field adjusters in this job. Met these field adjusters onsite in whatever state they were working and provided on the job training. Reviewed their claim files in the same way as mentioned in the above later jobs I have had. Walked them step by step through how to perform everything needed to do the job.In 2015, I also trained and managed an in-house Initial Contact Unit in the Nationwide Insurance Corporate office in Des Moines Iowa. I also functioned in this role remotely at home in Colorado. This Unit was the first point of contact for the insured to speak to after the insured filed their claim.I changed roles as needed by Nationwide Insurance from Field Work to Inside Desk Work and back to the Field when instructed. At times I also worked remotely from home reviewing our entire team of 30 field adjuster's claim files while they were onsite at the insured's property. I designed the workflow for this file review system. I set the payment authorities for these adjusters to be able to issue the check to the insured while onsite at the inspection. My time with Nationwide also entailed noticing any potential fraudulent claims, documenting my findings, and when fraud was suspected referring the claim to the Special Investigation Unit.
