Accomplishments: ► Created the Association’s first Medical Innovation Office to accelerate collaboration into new technology investments to improve the lives of people living with diabetes.► Established the first Business Integration Office to provide enterprise business planning, market analysis and strategy.► Reorganized the $24 Million publishing business by consolidating four business operations into one under new leadership. Responsible for creating and implementing a values-based ethical culture and comprehensive compliance program throughout a decentralized $20 billion distribution company following a $1 billion accounting fraud discovered in 2003.Created the first corporate philanthropy program in 2008 resulting in over 4M in cash and product donations to Feeding America. Developed the Company’s first enterprise risk assessment process. Managed employment litigation. Served as the chief counsel for human resources, which included chairing the Reasonable Accommodation Committee, reviewing the legality of reorganizations, negotiating severance agreements, managing wage and hour disputes, and training supervisors on a variety of legal issues. Implemented the Code of Ethics and trained employees, supervisors and managers on the Code. Investigated ethics complaints and provided recommendations to the Ethics Committee. Responsible for managing compliance issues including conducting company-wide audits related to a variety of statutes including sections of Immigration and Naturalization Act, Fair Labor Standards Act, Sarbanes-Oxley, U.S. Patriot Act and other federal laws.

Counseled national clients in all aspects of employment law including hiring and firing decisions, contract compliance issues and personnel policies. Drafted employee handbooks and trained management, supervisors and hourly employees in employment policies and conflict management. Conducted compliance assessments to determine potential liabilities of employment practices. Designed mediation and alternative dispute resolution systems to resolve workplace conflicts.Assessed potential legal liabilities and financial risks associated with employee complaints and legal actions. Developed strategic plans for implementation of REDRESS, a national mediation program to resolve Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) complaints in an 850,000 employee organization to address systemic, long term issues in a litigious culture.Created alternative dispute resolution policies and programs throughout the United States Postal Service which reduced litigation costs.Successfully litigated discrimination cases in federal district courts, including class actions. Defended arbitrations and other complaints tbefore various administrative forums, such as the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and the Merit Systems Protection Board.
